I am a software developer and illustrator. To some people, this probably sounds like a strange combination - but ever since I was a kid, I knew that my life would probably revolve around these two things. My father, who is a science fiction writer, introduced me to comics and fantasy novels. From that moment on, I wanted to create my stories about my characters. Everything served as a source of inspiration: comics, beautifully illustrated childern's books, movies, pictures from magazines, stories my parents used to read to me. That is how my fascination with heroes and monsters started. Approximately in the same time, I stepped into the magical world of computer games - and that is what sparked my interest in computers.
I am currently working on my first graphic novel with the working title "Warbringer".
I usually describe my artwork as "dark fantasy": mighty heroes, terrible monsters, war and forces of nature. The stories and characters I create are inspired by many things: folklore and mythology, fantasy novels, music and (of course) computer games.
Marc Silvestri, David Finch, Joe Madureira, Simon Bisley, Mike Mignola, Adrian Smith, John Howe. There are many others as well, but these ones had a huge impact on my style and the way I look at comic books and illustration in general.
Slaine: The Horned God, Spawn: The Dark Ages, Hellboy (all of it), Long John Silver, Batman: Arkham Asylum.
